Sweet Innocent Childhood

My daughter at 2 : Loved sweeping, mopping, washing utensils
"I want to grow up and become a HOUSEMAID"

My daughter at 3 : Just when she started her school
"I want togrow up and become a TEACHER"

My daughter at 4: After a visit to the supermarket
"I want to grow up and become a SALESGIRL"

My daughter at 5: After a ride in the bus.
"I want to grow up and become a CONDUCTOR"

My daughter at 6: Just after getting off from the lift.
"I want to grow up and become a LIFTMAN"

My daughter at 7: After seeing a documentary on astronauts.
"I want to grow up and become a SPACE TRAVELLER"

My daughter at 8: Seeing the models walking the ramp.
"I want to grow up and become MISS INDIA"

My daughter at 9: After draping me with dupatta.
"I want to grow up and become a FASHION DESIGNER"

My daughter at 10 now: Sees Indian Idol.
"I want to grow up and become an INDIAN IDOL"

God, just let her be happy with whatever she chooses to be in life.

aw, isn't in nice to know that she's absorbing and adapting :)
I had a cousin who wanted to be a bus conductor for almost close to 5 years - apparently they are very rich! :)

Let her change her mind as often as she likes. It is a woman’s prerogative!!
You go girl :)

RBDans: Oh yes, it is fun. The way her interest keeps varying. One hyperactive girl she is!

Random: lol.. You too? Conductors and especially TC's in the train were role models during playtimes for me too!

Aargee: You bet. These days I am coaxing her to become a dentist, what with the easy money they make!

Rads: Yeah, especially if the conductor becomes a Rajnikant ;)

Dame: Hmm... She needs all your support and encouragement, mam :) Looks like she has taken on her mom and her wavering mindset!

Something to Say September 3, 2007 at 12:54 PM

Gosh, the brat still wants to be a watchman.

Just Like That September 3, 2007 at 1:22 PM

LOL at liftman. Sitting thru the ups and downs of life.. Girl, your gal is so philosophical!

Conductors are a cool starting point- look where Rajni reached!

Sonny boy hasn't started this yet. Tho' I'm sure he will want to be an engine driver-he's hooked onto trains.

Sigh, this so reminds me of my growing up days...

Poppins: :) Chinna Chinna Asai!

STS: Yeah, it has. But then I keep telling her to look at Sandeep Acharya..he is nowhere to be seen!

Kiran: lol. Oh yes, I forgot to mention that. My D wanted to become that too!

JLT: Engine Drivers are cool too, nah? :) Agree about conductors too... not trying to put down any profession. I was just musing on her capricious mind :)

That shows that she is open to look at all possibilities - great way to go!
And your thoughts as a parent are the best way to let her be what she wants to be while ensuring that she is a good human being.
have you seen an ad with sachin where the kid says similar things?
he wants to be a pilot one day, an actor another day and a cricketer another - best is to let them explore the options!

Tharini September 3, 2007 at 8:38 PM

Wow...did she really say all those things. Amazing.
